Industry analyst Michael Pachter believes the price of Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE subscription could double within a few years. Speaking in a GTTV discussion (via TVGB) about Microsoft’s attitude to PC gaming, the Wedbush analyst stated Microsoft will focus on console multiplayer gaming as there is clearly more money to be made.“You can’t hook a guy into Xbox Live Gold if he’s playing on a PC,” he said.“[T]hat’s the other problem — you really want to hook every gamer who has a 360, you want them to buy all their games on 360, play everything multiplayer, pay you 50 bucks a year so that, in a couple years, it’s a 100 bucks a year.”“And that’s going up, we all know that … it’s a profit deal,” he added. What do you think about Pachter’s comments? Would you pay more for your LIVE subscription? And what about you PC gamers out there? Do you think Microsoft will neglect the PC as a gaming platform?
