Paradox has announced that it has been forced to close the beta sign-up application process for Pirates of Black Cove, after an “overwhelming response.”
Players were invited to sign-up for a closed beta session on Monday, with the intention that the process would remain open until 31 March.
However, the lure of RTS/RPG hybrid action (with bonus pirates) apparently proved too powerful and Nitro Games now have more than enough players for the beta.
“Since this is a closed BETA with limited spots, it made no sense to keep the application open as we have already exceeded the expected number of applicants by a land slide,” said Nitro’s Brendon Neuwerth. “This many closed beta applications is just awesome … we would like to thank everyone for their interest in our game.”
