Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event begins, this time with an unlockable skin for Brigitte

Put on your winter jacket.

It’s the holiday season — the season of giving, to be precise. And after Blizzard spooked fans by not giving away any skins for free in Overwatch 2‘s first Halloween event, the developer has decided to be a bit more jolly. ‘Tis the season, after all. The lack of an unlockable skin in the Halloween event was a major sticking point for fans. But now, players have something to work towards in the Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event — an unlockable skin for Brigitte.

Winter Wonderland is Overwatch 2‘s first winter holiday event, although it was an annual celebration in the original game as well. Not much has changed for fans between this game and the last when it comes to this event. There are still a couple of rotating game modes for fans to enjoy, including Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Yeti Hunter, and Freezethaw Elimination. Mei’s Snowball Offensive allows you to play as Mei and shoot snowballs at enemies in both a 5v5 and FFA format. Yeti Hunter pits five Mei’s against one jacked-up yeti-themed Winston. Finally, Freezethaw Elimination is a basic Elimination mode that freezes dead allies, allowing you to thaw them and keep the match going.

Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland has an unlockable skin

Brigitte’s new skin is the Epic Ice Queen skin, and is freely unlockable for all players who participate in the Winter Wonderland challenges. There are a total of eight Winter Wonderland challenges for this event, and you only have to complete six of them for the Ice Queen skin. You also have the chance to earn four sprays in addition to some meaty battle pass EXP.

If Blizzard gift cards are what was on your Christmas list this year, then you’re in luck. There are plenty of skins that you can buy in the shop as well. Otherwise, be sure to participate in the returning Winter Wonderland game modes and get the new Brigitte skin before the event ends.
