Trickster skills
Let’s discuss the Trickster’s skills in Outriders.
Temporal Blade (level 2; damage + interrupt) – Slices all enemies in front of you. The skill deals damage, slows, and interrupts targets. Temporal Blade is the first Trickster skill you’ll get in Outriders and it’s fairly useful since it can kill most common mobs. Just remember that the attack animation and actual kill are seconds apart, which means health regeneration isn’t instant.
Slow Trap (level 3; deception) – Spawn an anomaly field that slows down enemy movement and projectiles that pass through it — lasts 10 seconds. This can be considered as one of the Trickster’s core skills as it helps you set up your attacks while providing extra survivability.
Hunt The Prey (level 4: movement) – Teleport behind an enemy while gaining extra shields. This can help you unleash devastating attacks behind enemy lines. However, it can also be detrimental, such as when you end up teleporting in the middle of large mob groups.
Note: You can hold down the skill button and click on a particular target. A quick press of the button would instead teleport you to an enemy that you’re facing.
Twisted Rounds (level 6: damage) – Infuses your held weapon with anomaly-infused bullets. This effect lasts until you reload, swap weapons, or empty your magazine. Truth be told, this is one of the best Trickster skills in Outriders due to the high damage output and low cooldown. You’ll want to use this if you’re currently holding a sniper rifle (deadlier headshots), or an automatic weapon with a large magazine.
As a tip, you can blast an enemy with your weapon until your mag’s almost out. Then, use this skill to gain a full clip of anomaly-infused bullets without the need to reload.
Cyclone Slice (level 9: damage + interrupt) – Spin around to create a whirlwind of blades. This does decent AoE damage, though spinning around will still leave you open to attacks from more distant enemies.
Borrowed Time (level 13: movement) – Mark your current location to gain a temporary shield; reactivating the skill once more will cause you to teleport back to the marked location. I personally haven’t used this skill as much as I would’ve wanted to.
Venator’s Knife (level 17: deception) – Throw a knife that ricochets and hits up to five enemies. These hostiles are slowed and take extra damage on your next shot. I find this quite flashy since it counts as both a damage skill and a debuff.
Time Rift (level 22: deception + interrupt) – Cause a shockwave that temporarily debilitates enemies in the air for 3.5 seconds. Mobs that are suspended mid-air will be inflicted by weakness. This is a strong ability that can truly change the flow of battle. You’ll get effective crowd control, so try to make the most out of it.
All right. In the next section of our Trickster class guide, let’s talk about the perks and class point allocations in Outriders.
