Origin code apparently gives you Battlefield 3 for free

Edit: This is an older story, if you’re looking for news of Origin’s “On the House” giveaway of Battlefield 3head here.

An Origin code purporting to give you Battlefield 3 for free has appeared on Reddit. According to the post the code is universal, will work for everyone, and isn’t a one-time-use thing.

I’m going to be honest, though: I’m not sure about this. Our man on the ground Peter Parrish just tried the code with Origin and is telling me right now that he now owns Battlefield 3, so it presumably worked for him… but there are a few comments in that Reddit thread saying that the code is a one-time thing and has already been redeemed. As those posts were made before Peter actually redeemed it, though, that seems a bit weird, and I can’t test it for myself as I already have Battlefield 3 on Origin.

Still, it’s worth a shot. Try plugging G433-XWLD-ZBW8-JWUC-JDSW , and you may just wind up with a copy of Battlefield 3. Just don’t blame me if it doesn’t work, eh? It might be US only, or something and there is talk of it only working if you redeem it via the client.
