OnLive has been in limited testing for a while in the UK and today the release date for the service has been announced.
If the idea of cloud gaing gets you excited then the good news this morning is that OnLive will launch in the UK on 22 September.
When it launches there will be over 100 titles available so it will be interesting to see if OnLive is fully embraced in the UK. OnLive’s CEO Steve Perlman seems to think so stating that “OnLive will utterly transform gaming in the UK.”
Gamers will be able to play OnLive titles through their HDTV, PC, Mac, iPad and other Android tablets making it instantly accessible. There is of course streaming video and a variety of social features to bring the community together including Facebook integration.
UK OnLive subscribed members will be able to access the OnLive PlayPack Bundle which comes with over seventy games which will be instantly available.
If you’ve not got your head around how OnLive actually works then check out their videos which explains everything you need to know about the service.
The service will also roll out across Europe following the UK launch and OnLive are set to dish out free systems at the Eurogamer Expo on the 22 September if you’re heading along.
