What sort of ending will you get in Oddworld: Soulstorm?
This was previously discussed in our endings guide, but I guess it helps to mention it here, too. Oddworld: Soulstorm has 15 core levels and the level you just finished, The Yards, is the last of them. Core levels are those that are a rudimentary part of the campaign. You don’t actually need to do anything to make them available since they’re part of normal progression.
However, your Quarma score, which represents how many Mudokons you rescued in a level, is taken into consideration. This is why I keep citing the 80% requirement:
- Good Ending = If you rescued 80% of Mudokons in at least 12 levels, you’ll unlock two additional stages (levels 16 and 17).
- Bad Ending = If you rescued 80% of Mudokons in seven to 11 levels, you’ll obtain the bad ending.
- Worst Ending = If you rescued 80% of the Mudokons in six or fewer levels, then you’ll get the worst ending.
As such, everything from the tutorial (Raid in Monsaic) to the last core level (The Yards) will factor into how far the story would go. For instance, if you only got 80% in 10 levels, then the “bad ending” cinematic will play after you finish The Yards. No additional levels would follow after that point.
In my case, I was able to get 80% to 100% in all levels in Oddworld: Soulstorm. This allowed me to unlock the last two levels. If ever you’re missing out on a few Mudokons for the 80% requirement, this is where the level select feature comes in. You can replay any stage in the game to find all of Abe’s Mudokon followers. However, you have to clear a stage in one sitting. If you exit the stage or close the game, your progress won’t get saved.
Anyway, let’s say that you managed to get 80% in at least 12 levels, let’s go ahead and discuss Oddworld: Soulstorm‘s secret levels, the Brewery and the Eye of the Storm.
