How to complete Pearl Hunt side story in Octopath Traveler 2
To begin Pearl Hunt, you need to speak to the Man Searching for Pearls found at the bottom left of Tropu’haha’s Floating Theatre. He’ll tell you that he broke a precious necklace and its pearls have scattered around. He needs your help to find these pearls to repair the necklace.
Contrary to the man’s request, you only need to collect one pearl. Although there are more, you don’t gain any additional rewards for collecting multiple. The easiest pearl to collect can be gotten from the Fisherwoman found in the northwesternmost house in Tropu’haha. However, completing Pearl Hunt in Octopath Traveler 2 isn’t as easy as speaking to the Fisherwoman and having her hand it over.
You’ll need to convince her to give you Pretty Pearl. You can use either Agnea’s Entreat, Osvald’s Mug, or Throné’s Steal Path Action on the Fisherwoman to get the Pretty Pearl. Succeeding with Agnea is level based while Throné is luck-based. Depending on your level, the fight with Osvald can be tricky with the Fisherwoman having 2,816 HP and being weak to Sword, Bow, Staff, Wind, and Light.
After obtaining the Pretty Pearl, head back to the Man Searching for Pearls and hand it over. A cutscene will play, revealing that the necklace was for a woman he loves and wants to propose to. She’ll accept his proposal and with that, you’ll have completed the Pearl Hunt side story in Octopath Traveler 2. For doing so you’ll be rewarded with 15,000 Leaves, a Cupid’s Bow, and an Empowering Lychee (M).
