As you explore the world of Solistia you may notice that some areas are impossible to reach. You can’t get to them on foot and the standard boats don’t give you the option to head to them. All of these islands are full of adventure and loot and yet there’s seemingly no way to explore them. However, you actually can explore them but to do so you will need to learn how to buy a boat in Octopath Traveler 2.

Where to go to buy a boat Octopath Traveler 2
If you have the money and know where to look you can purchase your very own boat in Octopath Traveler 2. To buy a boat you need to head to Tropu’Hopu, a settlement found in the northeast corner of Toto’haha. Once you’ve arrived, continue east to reach the Tropu’Hopu: Shipyard.
If you have Partitio in your party, a cutscene will automatically play as part of his ‘The Scent of Commerce’ storyline. You’ll see an Affluent Man getting upset as he believes the Agent is trying to scam him into overpaying for a boat. After this cutscene ends, continue onto the dock itself where you’ll find Terry, a young female shipwright.
Once again, a cutscene will play where Terry will tell you that she wants 100,000 Leaves for the boat. When you have control again, you can then use Partitio’s Purchase Path Action on Terry to buy the Unfinished Vessel for 100,000 Leaves.
The following cutscene will see Partitio convince the young shipwright to hand the vessel over despite her concerns. During this sequence, you’ll also have the choice to customize the ship’s color and the symbol that appears on the sail. Finally, Partitio will name the ship The Grand Terry — and that’s how to buy a boat in Octopath Traveler 2. Now you own a boat, you can visit any anchorage to sail it across Solistia’s vast ocean.
Octopath Traveler 2 is available on Steam.
