Young Horses’ Octodad: Dadliest Catch, the expanded and improved sequel to their freebie Octodad game, will be released through all the usual digital platforms on 30 January.

The premise of the game remains the same; you are an octopus attempting to pass as a loving husband and father to two children. In order to maintain your disguise, you need to do various household tasks like mowing the lawn and buying food at the supermarket. Except, you know, you’re an octopus, so that’s quite difficult for you.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch takes the QWOP / Surgeon Simulator 2013 approach to controls, giving you just enough agency to kind of guide Octodad in the right direction, but not quite the amount of finesse you’d probably need to accomplish all the tasks with ease. Watch the trailer below to get a reasonable idea of how that looks, or pick up the first game for free over here.
