Developer Treyarch has revealed it is not planning to offer a public beta for its Call of Duty: Black Ops title.
The development team behind the eagerly-awaited shooter confirmed that it is running a beta, but only for internal staff at Activision.
Community manager Josh Olin told CVG: “We’re already doing an internal beta with all sorts of Activision studios – thousands of people are participating in our beta.
“That’s the only formal beta that we’re planning at the moment. There were a lot of misconceptions, confusion and Google ads. There was some speculation that we’d be launching a public beta tonight – that’s not happening. The beta is internal only right now.”
Last night Treyarch revealed a new Wager Matches feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops full details on the new game modes can be found here.
