38 Studios was recently hit by some hard times and sadly, had to let go of all of their employees and shut down just four days ago. As a result, there will be no patch for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Lead designer Ian Frazier has apologized to fans, stating:

“It’s something we very much wanted to do, but various issues outside our control (which unfortunately I’m not at liberty to disclose) prevented us from doing so for a long time. Finally we received clearance to do a PC-only patch, which wasn’t ideal (we wanted to do a patch on all platforms) but it was better than nothing.”

The patch in development was going to include two new difficulty modes, an improved camera, bug fixes, and more.
