We’d heard rumblings about the No More Heroes games getting a PC release earlier this year. Well, the time has come to see the fruits of that promise, as both titles are coming to Steam on June 9. For the first time, the games can be played in high resolution at 60 FPS, and will come with cloud saves enabled. Each game will retail for $19.99 USD, but a launch week discount lasting until June 15 will knock 10% off the purchase price. That’s a pretty fair price, considering, as each game is rather old at this point.
If you’re not familiar with the series, No More Heroes concerns the exploits of a self-proclaimed otaku hitman named Travis Touchdown. Travis rides a motorcycle and decapitates people using a weapon that totally isn’t a lightsaber. The first game concerns him trying to turn his #11 assassin rank around, so he hunts down the other 10 in order to kill them and steal their titles. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle happens three years later. His position drops to #51 after he grows lazy, so he sets out to get back to #1. But another assassin is gunning for Travis for revenge.
No More Heroes coming to PC
Of course, this isn’t the first time that a game in the series has come to PC. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, an overhead spin-off title that originally released on Nintendo Switch, also released on Steam in late 2019. Therefore, when it was announced that the others were coming, it wasn’t a great surprise. I’m looking forward to jumping back into the series, as these two are the only Suda51 titles I ever really cared for. Check in next week and we’ll have some more info on the games when they release on June 9. It should be to die for.
