Dragon Age 4 the game awards 2020

The trailer for the next Dragon Age didn’t give us a whole lot

Return to Thedas.

BioWare finally showed off a bit more on the next Dragon Age. Which, I’m able to now say, is just called Dragon Age — no 4 required, I guess. The trailer was, well, a fairly quick rundown of not much at all, to be honest. It’s nice to see that the game is progressing in its development. But after months of waiting, I guess I was hoping for a bit more. Does that make me greedy? Sure.

But just because it’s short, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to take away. The Dragon Age trailer is narrated by everyone’s favorite dwarf, Varric Tethras. For a lot of Dragon Age fans, I’m sure it’s nice to hear his voice once again. After all, it’s been a long while since Dragon Age: Inquisition. And until the recent teases for a fourth release, I’m sure some had doubts on the series’ continuation.

However, it’s clear that the franchise is still moving along nicely. Even with the recent departure of its executive producer, Mark Darrah, I don’t think anything is really slowing the development of Dragon Age.

“Enter Thedas, a vibrant world of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities,” reads the game’s official page. “The Dragon Age is a time of warring nations, savage combat, and secret magics. Now, the fate of this world teeters on a knife’s edge.”

An age of wonder and possibly dragons

All the teases point to you going back to Thedas, so there’s no concern about a whole new world to explore. According to the site page, there will still be plenty of features in Dragon Age that will live up to the franchise’s history. In the game, you make new friends, meet new lovers, and go forth as a team to kick the ass of evil. Sounds like a good time, overall.
