New Shogun 2: Total War Screens Reveal Campaign Map

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

Some new Shogun 2: Total War images have been released by Creative Assembly, showing some concept art, more unit close-ups and, most interestingly, the campaign map.
It’s quite a change from the unit markers and unfurled scroll approach taken by the original Shogun: Total War way back in 2000. The new campaign map shows full terrain details, like Japan’s mountainous regions, but with the somewhat stylised look that this sequel appears to be consistently aiming for. However, the map-scroll look has not been completely ditched, as one image shows a sketch map taking the place of ‘fog of war.’
Natural disaster events have also been confirmed for the game, reiterated by the concept art image of a man fleeing from an angry volcano.
