Capcom confirm new entry into survival horror franchise coming later this year.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will, according to Capcom, be released Winter 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC. The game is to be a collaboration between Capcom and Vancouver’s Slant 6 Games, the studio responsible for PSP exclusive SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3.
Operation Raccon City is described as a ‘third-person team based shooter’ that reinterpretes ‘events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3’. The title will feature four-player co-op as you take on the role of the Umbrella Security Services who are trying to cover-up the outbreak of the T-Virus upon Raccon City. Your enemies include zombies (surprise, surprise), Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W’s) and US Government forces who are trying to gather evidence on the outbreak.
Details on characters are sketchy but Leon Kennedy has been confirmed as appearing in the game.
Competitive multiplayer modes are also to be included that ‘will provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three way combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and threat of zombies and B.O.W’s’.
