It’s been a little quiet on the Kingdom of Amalur front since the game’s annoucement last July, but a few new screenshots from the open-world RPG have emerged from last week’s Game Developers Conference.
You may remember Amalur as the 38 Studios-developed RPG, featuring the involvement of Ken Rolston (lead designer on Morrowind and Oblivion) and baseball’s Curt Schilling. Author R A Salavtore is said to be involved too, presumably in a narrative capacity. As if that’s not enough names for you, Todd McFarlane is also on board.
Hackin’ and slashin’ will be on the agenda in Amalur, as it was stated at launch that the intention was to “bring a new level of intense action combat to the RPG genre.”
The game is due for an autumn 2011 release, so we’ll no doubt be seeing the marketing ramping up across the next few months. Amalur will be released for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
