When picking a team to play as in Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, you’ll want to keep an eye out for all the different types of Support Actions.

While you can summon support characters anytime, there are certain ways they can also help by performing a Support Action. Let me explain what they all do.

All Support Actions and what they do in Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections

There are seven Support Actions in total, and each of the 130+ characters in UNSC fits into any of these seven categories. In a party of three characters, you’ll always have two backup support characters helping the main character you’re controlling. Now, let’s go over all the Support Actions in Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

Cover Fire

Characters with Cover Fire as their Support Action will help attack alongside you when you use your shuriken. By pressing the ‘L’ key, your main character will throw a shuriken at the opponent. As soon as you do this, their Support Action will trigger, having them throw a shuriken in tandem with you.

Charge Assist

Charge Assist characters will help you when you carry out a Chakra Charge. To initiate a Chakra Charge, press the ‘I’ key, and then the Space Bar. With the Charge Assist character in your team, they’ll appear on the battlefield and your Chakra Gauge will replenish faster.

• Tsunade

Strike Back

Whenever you send an opponent flying with an attack, the character with this Support Action will activate. Your support character will initiate a follow-up attack on the opponent. The enemies hit with Strike Back end up flying back toward your leader, which allows you to continue with even more follow-up attacks.

• Konohamaru
• Madara
• Boruto

Dash Cut

Characters with Dash Cut will activate whenever the opponent performs a Ninja Dash, Chakra Dash, or Charge Chakra Dash. As you can infer from the title of the Support Action, your support character will appear and Guard against your opponent’s Dash maneuver.

Break Guard

The Break Guard Support Action activates whenever you enter a Guard Break. You can do this by spamming the attack button against a guarding opponent until their Guard breaks. When a Guard Break happens to you instead and you can’t stop the enemy attacks, your support character appears and guards you while you’re stunned.

Charge Guard

When you perform a Chakra Charge, the Charge Guard Support Action will activate. This support character will appear on the battlefield and guard you as you start to charge your chakra, which you can do by holding the ‘I’ key.

• The First Hokage
• Jugo
• Gaara
• Kankuro

Secret Technique Substitution

Finally, characters with the Secret Technique Substitution Support Action will help you if an opponent’s Secret Technique hits you. They’ll create a substitute of themselves and cover for you, nullifying the damage. As a reminder, it’ll only activate if your Support Gauge is at maximum.
