Creative Assembly has unveiled a new title in its acclaimed Total War series. Napoleon: Total War was announced during this year’s GamesCom event in Cologne and is set to be an all-new, story-driven branch of the series.Featuring a combination of turn-based campaign and real time battle, Napoloeon: Total War sees players battling through the diminutive general’s three most famous campaigns, taking in locations such as Italy, Egypt, Moscow culminating in the fateful Battle of Waterloo.“In Napoleon: Total War you get to actually be Napoleon – to face the problems he faced, to win the battles he won, and to build the Empire he built. Or better,” commented Creative Assembly’s Mike Simpson.“However, the game allows you to step in the shoes of his opposing generals as well, allowing the player to rewrite history as they see fit.” We’re big fans of Empire here at IncGamers and, although the game may alter our primarily Bill and Ted-inspired view of Napoleon, we suspect this new game will feature more classic strategy gameplay. Napoleon: Total War is due for release on PC in February next year.
