MultiVersus is at it again with a major update bringing Stripe from Gremlins to the game as a new “chainsaw-wielding assassin.” This update also bring major tweaks to the gameplay systems, as well as an exciting new Halloween event that adds a new currency and new skins.
Stripe wields a chainsaw and a crossbow as primary weapons, along with claws to swipe at enemies. Stripe falls under the assassin category of fighters in MultiVersus, and with the gameplay trailer that dropped today, it is safe to assume that Stripe will run down enemies and prioritize aggression more than the defensive minded characters that released in the past.
Stripe’s move set appears to be primarily up close and personal, with a few charge moves to supplement his lack of melee range. Nasty Swipes deals a combo of claw swings that end with a bite, Chain(saw) Reaction is a move that revs up his signature chainsaw and bounds forward, dealing damage and applying hit-stun to all enemies in the new character’s path. For his ranged options, Stripe has a gun that fires projectiles at a close range, or he can use targeting to deal damage to far away enemies.

MultiVersus Halloween Event Brings new skins, new currency, new fun!
With this update, MultiVersus also adds a multitude of different cosmetics for players to earn and purchase. The new skins are listed in the patch notes, the coolest among them being a Frankenstein Iron Giant skin. Overall, there were seven total new skins for characters such as Velma, Superman, Wonder Woman, Tom & Jerry, Jake, Reindog, and more.
MultiVersus also added a “candy” currency, which is basically the same as the existing gold currency but only for this event. You can unlock up to two skins with this currency, plus a profile icon and an emote sticker. This may seem sparse, but things are still ramping up in MultiVersus.
