Riding – increased by exploring map with as much speed as possible and fighting on horseback; improves mount speed, maneuverability, and usable mount types

Note: While some Riding perks help with movement speed, there’s a different method of increasing your campaign map movement speed and inventory capacity.

Level 25:

  • Vigorous – +6% horse HP

Level 50:

  • Spare Arrows – +3 arrows in quivers when starting a battle on horseback
  • Spare Throwing Weapon – +1 throwing weapon quantity when starting a battle on horseback

Level 75:

  • Squires – +2 party size; party member effect
  • Sharpshooter – +15% accuracy while on horseback

Level 100:

  • Mounted Archer – -10% penalty when using ranged weapons while on horseback
  • Cavalry – -10% penalty when meleeing while on horseback

Level 125:

  • Bow Expert – use any bow while on horseback
  • Crossbow Expert – use any crossbow while on horseback

Level 150:

  • Horse Grooming – +50% production for horse farms

Level 175:

  • Conroi – +4 party size; party member effect

Level 200:

  • Trampler – +50% charge damage

Level 225:

  • Iron Steed – -50% chance that a horse is lamed when wounded

Level 250:

  • Filled To Brim – +20 carrying capacity for pack animals; party member effect

Level 275:

  • Nomadic Traditions – +30% mounted unit speed; party member effect

Athletics – increased when you fight and move around the map while on foot; improves running speed

Note: While some Athletics perks help with movement speed, there’s a different method of increasing your campaign map movement speed and inventory capacity.

Level 25:

  • Extra Arrows – +2 arrows in quivers when starting a battle on foot
  • Extra Throwing Weapon – +1 throwing weapon quantity when starting a battle on foot

Level 50:

  • Close Quarters Training – +2 melee damage on foot
  • Ranged Training – +2 ranged damage on foot

Level 75:

  • Endurance – +4% HP
  • Dexterous – +3% movement speed

Level 100:

  • Powerkick – higher kick damage

Level 125:

  • In Good Shape – +2% HP for foot soldiers; party member effect

Level 150:

  • Furious Speed – +10% speed for foot soldiers; party member effect

Level 175:

  • Salt the Wound – extra damage when you’re at half of your max HP

Level 200:

  • Unburdened – lower penalty when over-encumbered; party member effect

Level 225:

  • Peak Form – +10% HP

Level 250:

  • Spartan – -5% party food consumption and wages; party member effect

Level 275:

  • Mighty Blow – bashes and kicks knock enemies down

Smithing – increased by using the smithy to create weapons, refine materials, and smelt old equipment; improves capability to smith more difficult weapons

Note: There are a few tidbits to remember when you’re crafting items to increase your skill level.

Level 25:

  • Efficient Iron Maker – 1:3 iron ore into crude iron
  • Efficient Charcoal Maker – 1:2 hardwood into charcoal

Level 50:

  • Steel Maker – 2:1 iron into steel; +1 crude iron as by-product
  • Curious Smelter – +100% rate of learning new designs when smelting

Level 75:

  • Steel Maker II – 2:1 steel into fine steel; +1 crude iron as by-product
  • Curious Smith – +100% rate of learning new designs when smithing

Level 100:

  • Steel Maker III – 2:1 fine steel into Thamaskene steel; +1 crude iron as by-product
  • Experienced Smith – +10% chance to craft “fine” weapon if difficulty requirements are met

Level 125:

  • Practical Refiner – -50% stamina spent when refining
  • Practical Smelter – -50% stamina spent when smelting

Level 150:

  • Vigorous Smith – +1 Vigor
  • Strong Smith – +1 Strength

Level 175:

  • Practical Smith – -50% stamina spent when smithing
  • Artisan Smith – -50% penalty when trading smithed weapons

Level 200:

  • Master Smith – +10% chance to craft “masterwork” weapon if difficulty requirements are met

Level 225:

  • Enduring Smith – +1 Endurance
  • Fencer Smith +1 focus points to One-Handed and Two-Handed skills

Level 250:

  • Sharpened Edge – +2% cut damage for crafted weapons
  • Sharpened Tip – 2% thrust damage for crafted weapons

Level 275:

  • Legendary Smith – +5% chance to craft “legendary” weapon if difficulty requirements are met; increased by an extra 1% for every point above 300
