Customize the visuals
An essential part of modding any game is forcing it to look exactly how you like it. This might be through cranking up the graphics to ultra, or sliding them all the way down until you have potatoes for NPCs. Whatever your preference, these mods should help you get the game looking just right.
NPC Revamp
This mod is an ongoing project, but as long as you keep it updated you’ll see the benefits both right now and over time. The creator is trying to rework most, if not all, of the faces of NPCs in the game. The aim isn’t to fill the game with beautiful people, more to make their faces match the rich character and personality that they might have in this world.
DRO’s Color Correction
This mod isn’t quite a visual overhaul, it just improves the colors, contrast, and brightness, enhancing the environments you’ll find yourself in without impacting anything else.
Purevision Reshade
This mod is a reshade preset for the game. It’s built for improving both visuals and lighting, and may be a better alternative to some of the above mods that do something similar. However, this mod seems almost guaranteed to cause FPS drops, so consider your options and test a few out before committing.
Invisible Helmet
This is a mod for those of you who like to spend hours in the character creator. You know that you’ll never see that face underneath a helmet, which you’ll be wearing 90% of the time, so use this mod to make it visible at all times. We would say that this mod is essential for all players. There’s nothing worse than getting through the character creator, feeling satisfied with the person you’ve molded from the clay-faced freak you started with, only to see that without a helmet they’ll almost certainly die.
On the next page we’ve got a collection of mods for enhancing the gameplay in Bannerlord. These will give you more depth in your next playthrough, and let you have a bit more fun with it overall.
