Mortal Kombat X patches will come with free skins

A twitter post from NetherRealm’s Ed Boon suggests that free character costume skins will be a feature of major Mortal Kombat X patches for the foreseeable future.

Here’s the post, which implies that a ‘Klassic’ skin for Sub-Zero is already included in the latest update.

I’m not sure whether that’s referring to Friday’s teeny-tiny 15GB PC patch, because the notes for that update didn’t mention anything about a free Sub-Zero skin. A couple of people on NeoGaf have suggested that the PC version didn’t get yet receive this; but since I don’t have a copy of the game, I can’t confirm whether that’s accurate or if they’re mistaken.

Boon’s statement implies that every ‘DLC’ patch will come with a free costume. I’m assuming that means major patches which accompany DLC releases, rather than every single Mortal Kombat X patch.

PC players – let us know if Klassic Sub-Zero has appeared in your game as a costume option yet.
