Mortal Kombat X introduces The Cage Family, shows Kenshi

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The latest Mortal Kombat X trailer is a look at the friendly Cage family: Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and Cassie Cage.

Okay, fine: they’re less “friendly” and more “a bit dysfunctional”, what with Johnny and Sonya being unhappily divorced, and all three of them being highly-trained hand-to-hand combatants with a penchant for snapping bones and pulling apart ribcages. This trailer gives a pretty good look at the sort of brutality all three of them are able to dish out, as well as a few quick glimpses of the family relationship.

Other than confirming Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade as playable characters, the trailer offers a quick glimpse at Kenshi. I don’t think there was any sign of him in the actual fighting segments, but he was standing around listening to a conversation. I’d say it’s likely he’s playable, but I’m not sure this is a confirmation.

Considering how shit I am at fighting games, I’m looking forward to Mortal Kombat X far too much. Not long to wait, though, as it’s due out on 14 April.
