Mortal Kombat X got its gameplay footage debut at Sony’s E3 press conference, and it’s about as bloody as you’d expect.

The footage features two intercut fights, with Scorpion and Sub-Zero battling it out yet again because seriously those guys will just never give it a rest, as well as two characters who I don’t recognise. Which means they’re either brand-new, or considerably more minor characters.

There’s plenty of back-and-forth action in each fight, but gorehounds among you will be most interested in the end when a slew of fatalities are shown off, as well as a few new characters. Give it a look below and see for yourself.

(The below footage of Mortal Kombat X was found on YouTube. We’ll replace it with an official high-res version as soon as one becomes available, so that you can see the arterial spray in its full 1080p glory.)
