More Details On Empire: Total War Expansion

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

IncGamers has recieved more information from The Creative Assembly guys about the upcoming expansion.  We previously reported the details of the units to be expected in the expansion, but we thought you might like to know what the guys working on the expansion have said:”The new units are a combination of new and replacement units. Some of the generic units in the game will be replaced with faction specific special units.  These units will give individual factions a more unique feel on the battlefield and less of a generic army.  So, as an example where you get a standard guard unit across all factions, several factions will now have their own unique version, with unique uniforms and attributes (Like reload time and morale etc.).

We’ve also given several factions access to units that are already in the game. So for example, The Dutch and Swedish factions can now access the Hussars unit. Something they were unable to do previously.

In total there is one brand new unit, ten unique replacement units and four existing units ‘unlocked’ for other factions.

This brings the total amount of newly accessible content to 15 units across the playable factions. These units are separate from the special forces edition, and pre-order units.

These units are indeed free and will be released shortly via Steam as a thank you to all our players. We’ll be releasing details on individual units over time via our forums.”
