Capcom decided to give us more information regarding Monster Hunter: World. In an interview with PlayStation, they stated that one those things they got rid of were the segmented areas on the map. A translated quote follows:

Coming to the PlayStation 4 with Monster Hunter there’s all kinds of things we can do that we couldn’t do before. One thing for example is we now have this very open map. Beforehand in the recent titles you’ve had these little segmented areas — you had loading transition, now there’s no loading screens, totally seamless transition-free area. That’s what we can do with the power available to us now.

Monster Hunter: World will launch in early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and later for PC. In Japan though, the game will stay a PlayStation 4-exclusive title.
