Modern Warfare Zombies will be the ‘largest Zombies to date’

When is Modern Warfare Zombies releasing?

The Call of Duty team has just announced that Modern Warfare 3 will feature a zombies mode. My favorite part about Call of Duty is the zombies mode and I’m so glad that it’s coming back.

Modern Warfare Zombies, explained

In the latest Call of Duty blog, Activision rolled out the literal red carpet for Modern Warfare 3. It announced Call of Duty HQ which is a hub area you can play Warzone, MW2, DMZ, and MW3 on, a brand new campaign that continues the story told in MW2, and, the reason we’re here: Modern Warfare Zombies.

All we got was a bullet point. “Did someone say Zombies? More information coming soon on the new Modern Warfare Zombies: the largest zombies offering to date.” While the announcement of Modern Warfare Zombies is exciting, what really grabs my attention is how Activision promises Modern Warfare Zombies will be “the largest zombies offering to date.”

If I have to speculate, I could imagine Activision using their big, established maps found in Warzone and DMZ to make an open-world Modern Warfare Zombies experience. I could see it turning into something big like Dead Island or Dying Light, but I also hope they have smaller maps that capture the arcade nature of the old-school zombies mode.

The announcement said that more information on Modern Warfare Zombies is “coming soon.” Warzone is holding a special Shadow Siege Limited Time Event that is an in-game showcase of what Modern Warfare 3 will hold, but I doubt we’ll see much zombie information there.

Instead, I would bank on seeing more about Modern Warfare Zombies in the upcoming weeks. Activision also said in their blog that “in the weeks to come, we’ll unpack a ton more information as we approach the November 10 release.” It’s an exciting time to be a Call of Duty fan, and I can’t wait to learn more about Modern Warfare Zombies.
