The early access period for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s campaign is now. But instead of diving into the intense combat scenarios, players everywhere are experiencing a myriad of bugs and errors. No one’s safe — PC, Xbox, and PlayStation players trying to get into the Modern Warfare 3 early access campaign are experiencing a buggy mess.

Modern Warfare 3 PlayStation players are running into a random disc required error even if they own the game digitally, PC players are experiencing video freezes and crashing on missions one and two, and Xbox players experiencing overheating issues. Chaos. Chaos everywhere, regardless of the platform.
Reddit user IMGONNAGETBANNEDS00N says that after installing the game, restarting CoD HQ four times, and launching into the first mission, they experienced an instant video freeze while the audio continued – then the game crashed entirely. This is on PC and their system is well above the recommended specs.
Strangely, it seems like some people are dodging the bullet. On the same Reddit thread, Solaceqt said they aren’t having any issues and are getting 110+ FPS and they have a barely better PC. Whether you do or don’t experience errors and bugs when trying to get into the MW3 early access campaign, this launch is undeniably abysmal.
If, instead of pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3 and taking the day off to enjoy it, you waited because you knew it was going to be a disaster, congratulations, you made the right call.
My observations of Activision in the past lead me to believe the Modern Warfare 3 errors and bugs will be ironed out as quickly as possible, but count yourself lucky if you didn’t bank on completing the entire MW3 campaign on early access day one because it doesn’t look like anyone will at this rate.
