Infinity Ward has revealed the first DLC episode for Modern Warfare 2 will arrive in spring next year. The news was revealed on IW man Robert Bowling’s Twitter page:”DLC is planned fir [sic] the wonderfully vauge timeframe of Spring. I’ll let you know when we know when it’ll be done.”
Earlier this month, Bowling hinted that future DLC may include new Spec Ops missions.
According to industry analyst Ben Schachter, Activision will reap big rewards from Modern Warfare 2 DLC.”As with the last two CoD titles, the game itself should maintain its $60 launch price until the next iteration (due in large part to the value of its online gameplay),” Schachter said.”But Activision will also benefit significantly from the high-margin DLC potential enabled by the packaged product’s success. We estimate that Activision will generate at least $100mil-$140mil in gross revenue from Call of Duty DLC in 2010.”
