Game Nation apparently has some big plans. Not only is it promising “the world’s first Experiential Video Game Theme Park and Resort.” (experiential? so you’ll experience it … that’s good to know), but also that “Visitors will become players as their dreams and fantasies come to life in adventures yet to be told.” If this seems like pie-in-the-sky talk, that’s because at present it sort of is. Game Nation has not yet decided on the “best location” for its park but expects to do so within “the next 12 months.” There’s no word on funding and little in the way of solid information. The text gives the impression that Game Nation wishes to be a kind of live action role playing experience – but the site header features traditional roller-coasters. Speaking to Game Politics (who apparently misread ‘experiential’ as ‘experimental’), mastermind Daniel Ruke promised this is “as real as real gets.” Then again, he also said “You are gonna see headshots” so who knows what kind of Willy Wonka-esque lunacy is milling around in his head. We’re undecided as to whether this whole thing is a gigantic hoax or not, but if it does come to pass we hope visitors are treated a bit better than they are in Bullfrog’s classic Theme Park.
