People who signed up for inclusion in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’s closed beta will be finding out at the end of next week whether they’ve been selected. A post from DICE says codes for the beta will go out on 22 April (to ‘Frontrunners’) and on 23 April to anybody else chosen.
The closed beta itself also begins on 22 April, so hopefully you’ve got a decent internet connection ready for downloading the game. It’ll run from that date until 26 April, and will let people “try out several of the main missions in Faith’s story, Side Missions, other optional content, and the Social Play features Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has to offer.”
According to the post, the closed beta will largely be about testing these ‘Social Play’ (otherwise known as multiplayer) aspects, and getting feedback from those who are playing the game ahead of the May release.
Here’s a trailer about those multiplayer bits and pieces. You’ll be comparing your parkour times and skills, racing against ghosts, and completing various open ‘dash’ challenges.
