Torn Banner’s follow-up to Chivalry – Mirage: Arcane Warfare – was already teased last month, but now has a full-length trailer, new screenshots, and a few more game details.
It’ll be another multiplayer, melee combat title, but one where magic (as the title implies) is also at the forefront. There’s a loose Persian/Arabian influence to the art design (and a touch of Zeno Clash, honestly), which will be rendered by Unreal Engine 4. According to the following ‘Community Diary’ video, Mirage: Arcane Warfare’s release will be later in 2016, preceded by a beta.
That same video also addresses why the studio didn’t just make Chivalry 2 (because they fancied doing something slightly different, basically), and strongly suggests Torn Banner will make a Chivalry sequel some day.
The game will have “diverse” player classes, each with their own unique weapons and skills. You can get an early idea of what that looks like from the gameplay trailer and screenshots, below.
