MiHoYo is releasing a livestream for the 2.5 version of Genshin Impact this week

The shrine priestess will arrive.

Genshin Impact is continuing its reign of free-to-play stardom as it prepares for the next version, 2.5, with a livestream detailing some of the new features we can expect. We get a livestream before every new update, and we always get new information about the game’s upcoming events, new characters, and gameplay elements like domains or minigames. From leaks, we already know some of the content that’s on the way. But maybe we’ll get a surprise?

One of the more mysterious aspects of the livestream will be an “online concert,” which should take up a significant portion of the event. You can say what you want about Genshin Impact, but the music is usually one aspect of the game that’s universally praised, so all these frequent concerts during livestreams are appreciated. Aside from the concert, we also know that we’re getting a new character in version 2.5: Yae Miko.

The shrine priestess

Yae Miko is an Electro Catalyst character, and it seems like she’ll function as a sub-DPS character. She’s an integral part of the Inazuma arc, assisting the Traveler in ending the Vision Hunt Decree and defeating Raiden Shogun. She’s fairly popular, and she’s finally getting her playable character debut. Yae Miko is a 5-star character, however. Unless you’re an expert in saving and rationing your funds, you’ll need to pull out the wallet for her.

You can get a first glimpse at Yae Miko and the other new 2.5 updates for Genshin Impact during the official livestream, which will go live on Twitch at 7 AM EST. Check out miHoYo’s official Twitch channel here to get ready for the stream. It’s a little early, but you’ll be able to catch the concert live, and be the first ones to get your hands on the reward codes that are always released with a livestream. Those free gems are important.
