This weekend will provide a decent chance to stock up on re-issued version of classic stategy titles like Age of Mythology: Extended Edition and Age of Empires II HD. Microsoft Studios is doing a Steam sale from today until 1 September, in which rather a lot of games are half-off or better.
Picking up Age of Mythology: Extended Edition ($15.00 USD), Age of Empires II HD ($5.00 USD) or Rise of Nations: Extended Edition ($10.00 USD) should provide a hearty fix of strategy, especially for those who remember those games with a faraway gaze and a warm smile.
There’s also an Age of Empires Legacy Bundle which has AOE II HD, AOE II HD: The Forgotten and Age of Empires III Complete Collection in it. Yes, a complete collection inside another bundle. It’s like the Russian doll of sale deals.
State of Decay is cheap too ($5.00 USD,) as are the pair of DLC add-ons, Breakdown and Lifeline. You can pretty much get everything State of Decay for a little more than $10.00 USD, which is quite nice.
The original Toy Soldiers is a couple of dollars, as is the much more recent and quite poorly received, LocoCycle. If you’d prefer a Twisted Pixel game that’s actually good, Ms Splosion Man is $2.00 as well.
All of the above will be on sale between 28 August and 1 September.
