Metal Gear Solid V E3 trailer has some surprising reveals

External to all the E3 Microsoft conference business, a new Kojima-directed trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been released.

With Kojima leaving Konami after the 1 September release of Metal Gear Solid V, this will be the final Kojima-directed E3 MGS trailer.

If you’re wanting to go into the game entirely blind, I’d suggest avoiding this one. It contains at least a couple of reveals which you may want to save for playing through the game itself.

More enigmatically, it features a lot of talk about how words are important to the ongoing fate of the world. Derrida would be proud.

As usual, Kojima has selected an appropriately decent soundtrack: New Order’s instrumental “Elegia.”

Edit: Video will hopefully have audio now. Apologies.
