Aside from the screenshots, I’m not sure what additional information you’d possible require besides the headline to this story. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will include the chance for Big Boss to adopt an adorable wolf with vision problems.
His name is DD (presumably short for ‘Diamond Dog’ even though he is clearly a wolf … probably) and the Tokyo Game Show reveal stated that finding him in a play-through would be optional. But what kind of heartless monster wouldn’t want this most excellent wolf pup accompanying them on missions?
Like Quiet, he can help Big Boss out on missions. Unlike Quiet, he is a wolf who wears an eye patch.
And apparently he enjoys travelling around in helicopters. I already like him approximately 20 times more than the dog in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now coming to the PC. No release dates have been confirmed for any platform, but Kojima did say yesterday (again, at the Tokyo Game Show) that the game would be out in 2015.
Update: Here’s an English-sub version from Metal Gear Moments of the DD reveal shown at TGS. This refers to him as a dog (rather than wolf) throughout, so now I just don’t know. Maybe he’s a wolf-dog. Or a dog-wolf.
