Metal Gear Rising Announcement

Metal Gear Rising voice actor is teasing an announcement to come soon

Revengeance 2: Electric Boogaloo.

If you thought that the Konami rumor mill would stop with the revival of Silent Hill, you’d be wrong. Now, there’s something that possibly indicates something new is coming in the Metal Gear franchise. Quinton Flynn, the English voice of Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, had something interesting to say on Twitter. And if it’s anything to go by, we may see a Metal Gear Rising-related announcement very soon.

The tweet itself occurred earlier today when Flynn responded to a fan asking about a Rising: Revengeance sequel. In response, he simply says: “Stayed tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks.” It’s pretty cut and dry. According to this, we could likely see an announcement for Metal Gear within the next month or so. However, it’s not clear what that announcement could be. It may be a Metal Gear Rising 2 announcement as so many have asked for. Or it could be part of a bigger reveal as we saw with Silent Hill.

The Metal Gear Rising rumor mill continues

A revival of Metal Gear has been rumored for years now. As far back as October 2021, we’ve heard inklings that the series would make a comeback. But for the most part, Konami has been radio silent on the matter. As for the rumors themselves, there have been all sorts of talk about remakes, sequels, and everything in between. So it’s best to take any unconfirmed news of this stuff with a pinch of salt. With that said, this is the strongest hint for a Metal Gear announcement we’ve seen in a while.

It’s hard to completely ignore these rumors now since Silent Hill made a return. And considering that Metal Gear is another massive franchise, it makes sense for Konami to bring it back. Of course, Hideo Kojima’s wild game ideas are a part of what makes Metal Gear so memorable. With him gone, it could be difficult for the franchise to find its footing.

But if the developers there can make it work, then seeing Metal Gear return would be awesome. Either way, if what Flynn says is true, we’ll find out what’s going on in the coming weeks.
