Alert, strategists: 1C Company has announced that Men of War: Assault Squad 2 will be rumbling onto your computers on 20 February.

Men of War: Assault Squad 2 mixes things up with “single-player style skirmish modes” that offer everything from full-on tank combat to stealthy sniper battles. For multiplayer, you’ll have maps ranging from 1v1 to 4v4, as well as a brand new 8v8 game mode for battles of truly spectacular proportions.

The game also offers a host of backend improvements. Proper multi-core support, and advanced shader technology, and rejigged AI, and improved interfaces, and seasonal camouflage, and so on. Not the most exciting information, but certainly welcome nonetheless.

The press release informs me that Men of War: Assault Squad 2 will be available for pre-order on 9 February, but a glance at the Steam page seems to show that it’s available for pre-order right now at a 20% discount. Players of the original Men of War: Assault Squad will get another 10% off, too. Hurrah!
