Late last night Maxis and EA issued a survey to all registered SimCity players. In the mail we received, there were numerous questions covering topics that have been raised  by the community time and time again since the game launched back in March.

Many of the questions asked covered answers we received from Maxis Senior Producer Kip Katsarelis when we interviewed him back in May. These survey questions are obviously ideas that have been kicking around the Maxis development team for a couple of months now with questions covering topics such as larger cities, one way streets, underpasses and subways.

Other questions in the survey address customisation such as naming streets and buildings, head to head leaderboards with buddies and even guilds.

Adding the question about larger cities seems a little odd as Maxis know this is the biggest complaint, Kip had already explained to IncGamers that it was “high up on their list”. He stated:

“First I want to formally acknowledge that it’s the number one complaint from players. Bigger cities is a huge technical undertaking for us and so that was something we had to concede to early on in design but looking at ways to get players to more efficiently pack their cities is something on our radar right now.  I can’t be specific on details with regards to what that means but it’s definitely high up on our list.”

With that comment from Kip in mind, this survey looks more like a priority list to gauge the order in which updates are rolled out. The appearance of this survey is good news for players, Maxis look like they’re  paying attention to the feedback.
