A new developer blog from Funcom’s  Senior PvP Designer Rasmus Harr outlines the changes they will be making to the MMORPG’s PvP system.

First up are changes to rewards in the Fusang warzone where players will now be rewarded every three minutes based on how many objectives their secret society holds. Players inside home bases get no rewards and there are no longer “black marks” for carrying out PvP missions. According to Harr, this will “discourage zerging”. PvP vendors are also being added in Fusang for the purchases of upgrades and turrets.

In what he says may appear a drastic move, all White Marks of Venice are being wiped. The wipe is because they are changing the white marks into a completely different smaller currency, and after the v1.4 update, players can can go to a PvP vendor and trade 100 white marks for 1 black mark. In Fusang players will be rewarded with white marks for every three minute interval as mentioned above.

To help the “underdogs”, when a society has not been receiving rewards in Fusang, the Council of Venice will unlock a PvP mission called “The Underdogs”, and when complete, the side will gain a “Custodian” which will patrol Fusang to help fight the enemy and heal players through a healing aura.

A battlegroup system for Fusang is also being added which will consist of three groups which will allow Funcom to merge or split battlegroups depending on activity.

Finally, PvP gear pricing has been re-evaluated and now falls more in-line with PvE gear progression and mini-game rewards have also been tweaked.
