A job listing is teasing the possibility that Mass Effect 3 could contain multiplayer.CinemaBlend spotted a LinkedIn job posting for “Multiplayer Programmer (Mass Effect Franchise)”, which doesn’t leave a great deal to the imagination. The listing, which you can see via the screenshot CinemaBlend took that can be found to the right, notes that multiplayer programmers “work with both the front and back end to take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.”They’ll need to “provide and implement solutions to deal with network latency, de-synchronization of data between networked machines/players, packet compression, cheating, and interrupted connections,” as well as “implement and integrate core online components on multiple hardware platforms.”Also of interest is the note that these programmers will have to “work with databases that allow for chat rooms, client/server games, player matching, player stats, etc.”Player matching? Player stats? Making single-player experiences multiplayer safe? Sounds like a mix of co-op and competitive, to us.We’ll let you know when we have more.
