Despite announcing that Marvel Heroes would run until 31 December, last week we reported it was to close in a matter of days. Today the website and game were shut down and a post was issued announcing it’s closure

On Friday it was revealed by Gazillion staff that the PC version was scheduled to close months ago but was given a last-minute reprieve. Based on the comments we saw from the developers on Friday, the closure can be attributed to licensing issues, terrible management, and a low player base.

For a game that started out a little shakey and was then vastly improved in 2015, it’s a disappointing outcome for gamers who sunk time and money into it.
