LOTRO: Siege Of Mirkwood Released

Siege of Mirkwood, the latest digital expansion to the MMO ‘Lord of the Rings Online’, is released today, introducing a number of new features to the game.

Middle-earth has been expanded to include the forest of Mirkwood, where players take part in the conclusion to Volume II. The level cap has been increased to 65 and the new region of Mirkwood is now fully accessible, which contains the deadly fortress of Dol Guldur. Players can also look forward to major enhancements to combat and Legendary Items and the introduction of Skirmishes, which you can find out more about in our preview

“Today we unveil LOTRO’s second major expansion and let players enter the legendary forest of Mirkwood and experience the climax and conclusion to Volume II of our epic story,” said Jeffrey Steefel, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online. “The response from our players and the press has been nothing short of outstanding and serve as a real validation of LOTRO’s position as one of the world’s premium online games.”

The expansion is available to players in the US today by download only, so visit the official site to update LOTRO today. Players here in Europe can get the expansion on Thursday 3 December.
