Developer Snowblind has taken part in one of those video-diary type affairs, in support of its upcoming (well, 2011 sometime) Lord of the Rings title – War in the North.
From what we know, and what’s shown in this video, War in the North will feature events that are referred to, but take place ‘off camera’ in the classic novel series. This game will follow the struggles of heroes in the North, who were just as important in holding back Sauron’s armies in the fictional War of the Ring. It looks like it’ll be a hack’n’slash game in nature.
Snowblind are at pains to explain how they’re trying to remain authentic to the books, and that they’re working with the Lord of the Rings estate to ensure this happens. War in the North is expected on PS3, PC and Xbox 360 at some point in 2011.
