Little Hope: Act IV – Pursued
You’ll take control of Taylor here, so make your way down the road.
Premonition: Eventually, you’ll spot a clearing with some benches. The “Voodoo Doll” premonition can be found here.
Read the plaque to discover a secret regarding Little Hope‘s Commencement Day Massacre.
You can also check out the nearby house and Little Hope‘s tourist office for a couple of secrets too.
You should spot a construction site ahead. Before going there, check the side path going to the view point.
There’s another secret for the execution site.
Head past the construction area for a short scene. Next, be ready for an extremely hectic moment.
Major decision:
You have the option to run or hide from the creature. I chose to make a run for it. In doing so, a key mechanic in Little Hope was showcased: perspective switching.
The perspective kept changing between Taylor and Daniel while the two are running away. This means multiple QTE prompts (around four sets each) until the two are able to escape the creature.
Note: If you decide to hide, you’ll have a “Keep Calm” minigame followed by the running part.
Surrounded: The chapel
Andrew, John, Daniel, and Taylor are all reunited again as they arrive at Little Hope‘s chapel. They also spot Vince walking towards them.
Major decision:
Andrew will see the creature following Vince. If you picked up the gun earlier, you can aim and shoot at the creature, or avoid firing the weapon. I decided not to shoot.
Major decision:
As the group barricade’s the chapel’s door, you’ll hear Vince screaming outside.
There are multiple dialogue choices here in succession. I chose the following replies: concerned, hopeful, distraught, desperate, then subdued. Vince assured the group that he’ll go get help.
Andrew and Daniel will then make their way up top to the church’s bell tower.
After the scene, you’ll control Taylor. I chose the sympathetic then anxious responses.
Go ahead and explore the chapel’s interior now. Just try to avoid looping around the altar and towards the left-hand side.
Premonition:Â Take a look at the small desk to find the “Exorcism” premonition.
Be sure to examine all the secrets that can be found here such as the scribbled note, the writing on the wall, the list of pastors, and more.
If you go around the altar and then to the left-hand side, a cutscene will trigger.
The group will run outside the chapel while chased by a demon.
Major decision:
As Daniel, you can either confront the demon or escape. I chose to confront it.
Since Daniel took the knife from the museum earlier, I was able to stab the demon. Next, I chose the commanding dialogue option.
Note: If you choose to escape, you’ll get a “Keep Calm” minigame followed by a short confrontation.
Major decision:
You’ll take control of Taylor now. She’s lost in the fog and you have the option of running to the left or to the right. I chose to go to the right and she was reunited with the group.
I believe going to the left might take you to the clutches of the demon (and Taylor doesn’t have a weapon with her). I’m not sure about this, though. Let me know what happened in your Little Hope playthrough in case you picked this option.
Low Point: The gun
The four survivors reach the woods, safe from the demons. As John, I chose the indignant, thoughtful, then defiant options.
I believe the stern and insistent options will lead to his and the group’s belief that the child, Mary, is completely evil.
Major decision:
Assuming Andrew took the gun earlier, you’re presented two options: wait for a clear shot or put the gun away. This is a pivotal moment because there’s no aiming minigame here and this choice is all you have.
I decided to put the gun away.
Major decision:
This incident is followed by yet another pivotal moment. Both Daniel and Taylor are being attacked and Andrew can only rescue one of them.
I decided to rescue Daniel here. There are QTE prompts and aim-and-shoot minigames here.
Note: The reason I decided to rescue Daniel was that one of the premonitions showed him getting impaled by a demon’s spike. I thought he was in a lot of danger. Don’t worry because you’ll have a chance to rescue Taylor afterward.
The Curator then speaks with you after this part, but there are no hints this time. Let’s continue onward to Little Hope‘s fifth act.
