Little Hope: Act II – Confrontation
You’ll have control of Angela here as the group makes its way towards the town proper.
Premonition: As Angela, check out the metal barrels next to the shed. You’ll find the “Human Sacrifice” premonition here.
Check out the side path with some benches. Examine the magazine.
Next, speak with Andrew who’s chilling nearby.
Continue walking along the highway with the group.
You’ll eventually reach a covered bridge and a scene will follow.
Major Decision:
- I’ll come with you – This was the choice I made during my first playthrough of Little Hope. Angela will follow John as he heads towards the bridge. There’s a scene here with a couple of dialogue options. I chose to respond in a curious then frightened way.
- Good luck – I haven’t been able to test this outcome yet.
After this ordeal, the group will decide to split up. Andrew and John want to go through the bridge to head into town. Taylor and Daniel, meanwhile, want to check a side path.
Major Decision:
- I’m with Andrew – Angela will tag along with Andrew and John. This was the decision I made.
- I’m with Taylor – Angela will join Taylor and Daniel. I didn’t test this part. However, if you check the scene selection menu, you’ll realize that Angela is with Taylor and Daniel, so this might be the “canon” choice.
Anyway, after the cutscene, there will be a QTE moment for John, Andrew, and Angela.
Off Track: The shed
You get to control Andrew again. Keep following the pathway and examine all the stuff you see.
Once you reach the shed, there will be a “Keep Calm” minigame, so make sure you time those button presses correctly.
Enter the shed and examine the New Age Curses book and flip the pages for a secret.
Check the floorboards in the next room. Pull out the case to reveal a gun.
Major decision:
- Andrew can tell Angela that they need to catch up with John.
- Alternatively, you can tell her that you found a gun.
If you choose the latter, Angela tells you that guns will do you no good. You can decide to keep the gun or discard it. I chose to keep the weapon.
Off Track: Outside the police station
The trio then reaches the police station. John asks you to find something you can throw to break the window.
Premonition: Before you do that, check the barrels off to the right-hand side. There’s another one of Little Hope‘s premonitions here. This one’s called “Mercy.”
Go to the left-hand side now and pick up the rock. After a bit of banter, you can aim at the window and throw the rock to break the glass.
The three characters will head inside the police station.
Another Way: The playground
You’ll switch to Daniel’s perspective as he and Taylor head to the school. The gate seems to be locked, so the two need to head to the side path that leads to the playground. Don’t forget to examine the markings and signs.
Once you reach the playground, examine the item on the bench to see a child’s creepy drawing.
Daniel will spot someone. You can choose to be assertive or concerned.
When Daniel gets grabbed, another scene will follow. You can choose to act in a baffled or outraged manner.
Premonition: After all of that, continue along the pathway and you’ll find a bench with the “Like a Stone” premonition.
Another Way: The store
Eventually, Daniel and Taylor need to jump down a ledge (this is a QTE). There’s a shed down below which has a runestone (secret) for you to find.
The couple will spot a dilapidated store nearby. Examine the flyers and the signposts here.
Towards the right-hand side, Daniel will see a gate that one could crawl through.
Major decision:
You can choose to go through the underside of the gate or find another way. As far as I know, the entrance that you didn’t pick will be chosen by Taylor, but this will only be playable in Little Hope‘s Curator’s Cut.
In my first playthrough, I chose to push the garbage dump (button-mashing minigame) to clamber onto the ledge and go through the store’s window. Taylor starts to worry since Daniel’s alone inside the store. There are multiple dialogue choices here.
However, I realized later that it was a poor choice. Instead, it’s better for Daniel to enter the store using the stairs. That’s followed by a couple of QTEs and dialogue options.
Premonition: The reason why using the stairs is better is that you’ll find a couple of secrets plus another premonition, “Ritual Blade,” in a small room just before you drop down.
Once you do jump down to the first floor, it’ll follow the same sequence as though you went inside by going through the window.
Keep exploring the store to find some secrets (like the “No.1 Dad” tag” and others). Then, be ready for a “Keep Calm” minigame.
Major decision:
There’s a scene after you interact with the door. You have the option of confronting or leaving. I chose the latter here, but I’m not sure if there are distinct consequences for picking the former.
After this, you’ve got a couple of dialogue options once you speak with Taylor again.
The Crossing: Inside the police station
You’re once again in control of Andrew. The police station has many secrets such as the Certificate of Commendation (you can wipe away the dirt).
There’s also the sign that says it’s built on top of the old witch gaol, among many others.
Check out all the secrets you can find here before using the phone.
Once you do use the phone, you’ll realize that its line is disconnected. Search around and a scene would follow after a few seconds pass.
Andrew will then answer the phone and you can choose how to react.
Major decision:
In this particular vision, Andrew can tell the group that they need to get out of there or stay quiet. I chose the latter. You’re then presented with the option of approaching the man or approaching the children. I approached the children, although I’m not sure if this has any grave effect down the line as you continue playing Little Hope.
In relation to the above, there will be two more dialogue choices regarding the child (Mary) that Andrew keeps seeing.
In any case, Andrew and John will need to open the main doorway of the police station (button-mashing minigame). They’ll find Daniel and Taylor outside too.
The Crossing: The collapsed bridge
Premonition: You’ll take control of John this time. Go near the dilapidated house off to your right. The bench has the “Shackled” premonition.
Examine the bust outside the house. Pan the camera downwards to reveal a secret.
The group will then arrive at the ruined bridge.
There are a few dialogue choices to make here. I chose the options that had John become more self-assured.
As John, Andrew, and Angela attempt to cross the bridge, they’ll have another vision of an alleged witch’s execution.
John has the option of asking what he can do to help. Try to be more assertive and take on a leadership role.
After the vision, the bridge will suddenly collapse. You’ll take control of Andrew.
Major decision:
You can choose to rescue John or Angela. I chose to rescue Angela here.
Then, as Angela, you can either trust Andrew or be dismissive. Choose to trust him and complete the QTE.
Once this part is done, you’ll meet the Curator again. He offers to provide you with a hint. If you ask for one, he’ll recite a passage from William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale.
Anyway, let’s go ahead and check out Little Hope‘s third act.
