LucasArts and Traveller’s Tales have announced LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.Based around the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which takes place between Star Wars Episode II and Star Wars Episode III, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will allow players to take control of Jedi and Separatists alike. The game will include characters from both seasons of the animated series, as well as “some fan-favourite characters from the beloved theatrical Star Wars saga.”Expect plenty of new goodies to play with. We’ll apparently see brand new battle modes adding in “unique, head-to-head combat,” and an upgraded level builder allowing the construction of customised bases and battlefields. There’ll be plenty of new character abilities too, including squad command, lightsaber slicing, lightsaber jumps, long-distance Jedi attacks, and grapple tie-ups.The most recent LEGO game was LEGO Indiana Jones 2, which featured co-op level creation. Other than LEGO Star Wars III, we’re currently flicking our wands over LEGO Harry Potter, and you can see a vignette from Year 2 of that right here.
