LEGO Fortnite has recently benefited from an update that fixes lots of issues that the community has had with the game. The community couldn’t have been louder or clearer, and we’ve been answered.
Everything that the LEGO Fortnite update adds
LEGO Fortnite has been a strong success, but there have been lots of quality-of-life issues that have driven some players from the game, and others into frustration. Since day one, the community has been commenting relentlessly on these frustrations and pain points, and at last Epic Games has answered.
On December 13th, an update was released that improves the quality of life of the game by a great margin. Below is a complete list of everything I could find online about it, as well as things I’ve observed myself.
Durability has been increased
Namely, the most important part of the update, the durability of all tools and weapons has been buffed by 30%. When you hop back into your world, you may see that existing tools may appear slightly more damaged than before. This is because their maximum has increased.
Any new tool crafted from now on will benefit from this increase in durability, addressing the biggest frustration for players. With 30% more durability, better tools and weapons last significantly longer and can deliver more hits.
There is still no way to repair items, however.
Inventory and storage management has been improved
Another frustration for players was that there were no hotkeys to quickly switch items between the inventory and chests. Well, now there is. With quick swapping items between the inventory, the quick bar, and chests, depositing and withdrawing items has become a lot better and more manageable.

Items now despawn
One problem LEGO Fortnite suffered with was that items stayed on the floor seemingly forever. So dropped loot and broken weapons from skeletons quickly clogged up the ground. This would not only look messy but cleaning up was a huge inconvenience as there was no way to destroy items you didn’t want.
Now, however, it seems that the item despawn when you get too far away, and when you leave the game. So do not leave valuables on the ground anymore.
Chests no longer drop all loot when broken
I have experimented with this considerably, and it seems that chests, when broken, do not drop all of the contained loot. I suspect that this may be a bug, but it is something to be very mindful of. I broke a chest to test out one of the former glitches, and it deleted all the tools inside of it.
So remove any belongings you have when breaking chests until it’s patched.
Bugs and glitches have been fixed and patched
One of the infamous glitches, the chest durability glitch, has been patched. With that, we can assume that other glitches and bugs will have been stomped out, also.
With the full list of update notes out of the way, you can head back in and enjoy the quality of life changes. With durability enhanced, it may be high time to upgrade the durability even further.
