Valve has announced that The Passing will be available to PC and Xbox 360 owners of Left 4 Dead 2 on 22 April.As we reported earlier, the achievements list for The Passing hinted at a new ‘mutation’ mode. The latest press mailing reveals a little more, describing it as “A series of weekly game mode events.”It continues, “These week-long runs of new gameplay modes range from “Realism Versus” mode to “Chainsaw Massacre,” which gives all players chainsaws with an unlimited supply of gasoline. There are over 20 Mutations planned, each playable on all L4D2 Campaigns.””A new co-operative challenge mode of play [and] support for infected bot play in Versus” are also promised, alongside the details we already knew: the introduction of the ‘Fallen Survivor’ infected, M-60 firearm and golf club.The Passing will cost 560 MS Points on Xbox 360 and absolutely nothing for PC users.
